Another Princess Party Idea is to serve Princess Sparklers, which are layered drinks in a sugar-rimmed cup.
When hosting a Princess Party, you can’t just have regular drinks, right? I wanted to serve a fun beverage with the cake for dessert, so I made each guest a Princess Sparkler. It is a layered drink served in a cup that is rimmed with pink sprinkles. The girls all said that it was so good, and they thought it was neat that there were 3 kinds of liquids in the cups.
I prepared the sugar-rimmed cups before the party. Dip the rim of clear plastic cups into melted candy wafters or melted white chocolate.
While the white chocolate is still soft on the cups, dip it into a bowl of pink sprinkles.
Allow the white chocolate to harden before using the cups.
When you are ready to serve the Princess Sparklers, fill the cups with crushed ice.
Then, add the liquid in layers by their sugar content. The beverage with the highest sugar content goes on the bottom. I started with Strawberry Lemonade with 33 grams of sugar per serving. Then, I slowly added grape Gatorade G2 with 7 grams of sugar per serving. I topped it off with Diet 7Up with 0 grams of sugar per serving.
The strawberry lemonade was a light pink, so it is a little hard to see the layers in this photo. Next time I will either buy a juice that is brighter in color or add a drop of food coloring to the juice to make the layers more pronounced. The girls said they really liked the combination of flavors in the Princess Sparklers, and they thought it was fun to nibble on the sugar-rimmed cup after they drank their beverage.

I used pink sprinkles, sometimes known as sanding sugar. http://www.amazon.com/Wilton-Pink-Spring-Sugar-3-25oz/dp/B0000AE5ZC

This is such an adorable idea. Could easily be used for showers or “adult beverages”. Love it

I had no idea you could layer drinks based on sugar content! Will definitely try it for grown up drinks 🙂
