This Bomb Pop Sugar Scrub recipe is perfect for summer, gifts and spa parties. The coconut oil, sweet almond oil and sugar softens and moisturizes skin.
Last summer, I shared a recipe for a Snow Cone Sugar Scrub and has remained popular throughout the past year. This summer, I am switching things up a bit and sharing a recipe for Bomb Pop Sugar Scrub.
It is another sugar scrub inspired by a classic summer treat and is made mainly with kitchen ingredients. Although this sugar scrub could be assembled in mason jars, like other sugar scrub recipes I’ve shared, I used test tubes instead, to make these scrubs look more like Bomb Pops!
Assemble Bomb Pop Sugar Scrub Test Tubes
First, assemble the bomb pop test tubes. (I bought these test tubes from Michael’s bargain bins for $1.50 each.)
You will need half of a craft stick for each test tube cork. Cut a small slit/gap in the top of the cork about the size of the craft stick.
Then, squeeze hot glue on the end of the craft stick and press it into the slit/gap in the cork stopper.
How To Make Bomb Pop Sugar Scrub
Pour the fractionated coconut oil and sweet almond oil into a bowl. Gently stir in the sugar, one cup at a time. Divide the mixture between three bowls.
Blue Raspberry Sugar Scrub: Stir in Raspberry Loranne Oil and blue soap colorant. I used 2 bottles of oil and about 1/4 of the bottle of soap colorant.
Lime Sugar Scrub: Stir in Lime Loranne Oil. I used 1 bottle of oil and the lime layer remained white.
Cherry Sugar Scrub: Stir in Cherry Loranne Oil and red soap colorant. I used 1 bottle of oil and about 1/4 of the bottle of soap colorant.
I used pastry bags to fill the test tubes. Cut the tip off of the pastry bag, add the sugar scrub and squeeze it into the test tube. Use a new pastry bag for each color. I stood the test tubes in mason jars to help keep the sugar scrub in place.
If you need to clean the sides of the test tubes, use a napkin or paper towel.
A wooden skewer can help level out the sugar scrub.
After all of the colors have been added to the test tubes, cap with the corks.
These Bomb Pop Sugar Scrubs are so stinkin’ cute and so much fun for summer. The mixture of coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and granulated sugar softens and moisturizes skin.
Make a batch to give as gifts. Or host a summer spa party and use the homemade sugar scrubs to do pedicures!
If you don’t have any of the test tubes, you can use mason jars for the bomb pop sugar scrub instead!
Layer the colors in the jar by carefully spooning them in one layer at a time.
Use a small scoop or spoon to get the sugar scrub out. This wooden scoop came with this small jar from Hobby Lobby.

Can you give me an idea of the size of tube. I would like to order online if possible.
Thank you,
Johnna

I’m sorry I don’t have the measurements. The only thing I can suggest is to guess by the size of it in the photos compared to the popsicle stick, my hand, and the mason jar they are in. Best of luck!
Meg says
Are you using the solid or liquid coconut oils?
Tonia says
Hi Meg,
The coconut oil was solid when I put it in the mixer to be whipped.
Enjoy!
