Now that I have my fireplace and mantel decorated, I am moving on to my dining room. Since I ended up sick on Thanksgiving and was unable to host the Thanksgiving dinner, maybe I can do a Christmas dinner instead! Before going shopping, I looked at Pinterest, Sears Christmas Shop and multiple magazines for some inspiration. I came up with an idea in my head of what I wanted to buy and how I wanted it to look.
My plan is to stick with the same color scheme as my fireplace, since my dining room is connected to my family room. I already have these white dishes trimmed with silver that I love! These were a great deal on Black Friday, several years ago and I wanted them so bad. I was pregnant and on bed rest so I couldn’t go to the store to get them. So, my wonderful, loving husband surprised me by braving the Black Friday crowds (the ONLY time that has ever happened) on his way to work to get 2 sets of them for me for Christmas!
So, off to Sears I went with Vanessa, to find the rest of what I want to decorate the table. At first, we had no luck at all and I was so discouraged. So, we took a lunch break at the food court and I sketched out a new plan. Then, back to Sears we went and we had nothing but good luck!! I found some items on clearance and was able to use a 10% off coupon! Full retail price: $267.83 Discounted price: $89.50 Final Total with tax: $96.01
Now I need to get busy on crafting tabletop items, setting it all up and photographing it for you! Hopefully I will have some new tutorials to share with you. Here is a little preview of how great the items I bought are going to look with the dishes I have.
How is your decorating going? Are you already done or haven’t you even started?

so pretty! I’m like everyone else! I love the acorns! I’m not that creative though and the little munchkins would never let that stay. I actually have a little neighbor who likes to eat acorns…LOL

Are you serious Tonia? I have that exact same pattern plate set but in gold! What a coincidence! I love everything you chose. I think it’s going to look great when you set it all up. Can’t wait to see it.

Beautiful. Love that silver acorn. Can’t wait to see the final result!
My husband is definitely not a Black Friday shopper either, but he did it for me one year when I was laid up in bed recovering from surgery. He was much more appreciative of the craziness after that. I should say that he doesn’t mind heading over to the auto parts & tool store on Black Friday as those 2 places aren’t too crazy. 😉
