This Pumpkin Pampering mason jar gift is a homemade gift idea. It’s a gift in a jar filled with pumpkin body care items, pumpkin candy, and pumpkin candle!
I’m so excited to share my latest mason jar gift with you. Fall is my favorite season! I love the colorful leaves, the crisp fall air, crunchy apples and cheerful pumpkins.
My love of fall might also have something to do with having a fall birthday. Last year I made a Peppermint Pampering gift in a jar and that was a big hit, so I decided to make a Pumpkin Pamering jar for autumn.
It is a large mason jar filled with delicious scented pumpkin body care products, pumpkin treats and a pumpkin candle.
Like all of the mason jar gifts I’ve made, this one is easy to assemble. Just gather together a bunch of pumpkin themed items with a similar color scheme and fit them into a large mason jar.
I used a Kerr 32oz Wide Mouth Quart jar. If you can find store bought products, go for it. Otherwise, I’ve included the recipes for pumpkin foot soak, pumpkin body butter and pumpkin sugar scrub below.
This pumpkin pampering jar also included pumpkin spice Hershey’s Kisses, Lip Smackers Pumpkin Latte lip balm (from Target) and a pumpkin spice votive candle (from a Target 4 pack).
To make the pumpkin body butter, you will need two 4 oz jars of vitamin E cream, 1/2 of a 13 oz tub of petroleum jelly (or buy the 7 oz tub and use the entire thing) and three 8 fl oz pumpkin scented body lotion (I used Bath and Body Works Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow). Put all of the ingredients into a mixer and whip them together. Put the lotion into small containers, attach a label and top with a strip of washi tape.
Note: This makes a TON of lotion. There was enough to fill six 8 oz mason jars! If you don’t want that much lotion, cut the recipe in half.
Another Note: I added 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ginger, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/8 teaspoon allspice to my body butter to increase the pumpkin scent. BUT since the spices don’t dissolve, the lotion feels a little gritty. So I will leave that option up to you.
To make the pumpkin sugar scrub, you will need 1/4 cup fractionated coconut oil, 1/4 cup pumpkin scented shower gel (I used Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow) and 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar. Put the coconut oil in a bowl and stir in the show gel and then add the sugar. This makes 1-1/2 cups of sugar scrub.
Note: If you want to increase the pumpkin scent, mix 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and a dash of ginger, nutmeg, and allspice.
For the pumpkin foot soak, you will need 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup Epsom salt, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon allspice. Mix everything together with a whisk.
Put 2 tablespoons of pumpkin foot soak into each container. This makes enough to put 2 tablespoons into about 10 containers. When ready to the foot soak, pour the entire contents of the small foot soak container into a basin of warm water.
The mini containers I used for this mason jar gift are these 2.4 fl oz containers from Family Dollar. The Family Dollar near my house has been selling these containers for years, but you don’t have to use these specific containers.
There are many mini storage options available at craft stores. Look through the bead storage, paint storage, embellishment storage and food storage aisles.
You can spray paint the lids with silver spray paint made for plastics, if desired. You can download the labels here:

Everything smelled so wonderful that while I was editing the photos for this blog post, I soaked my feet in the pumpkin foot soak. Then, I used the pumpkin sugar scrub and pumpkin body butter on my feet. It was a great way to relax before going to bed!
- (2) 4 oz jars of vitamin E cream
- ½ of a 13 oz tub of petroleum jelly (or buy the 7 oz tub and use the entire thing)
- (3) 8 fl oz pumpkin scented lotion (I used Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow)
- Optional: vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice
- Put all of the ingredients into a mixer and whip them together.
- Fill small containers with the body butter, add a label and a piece of washi tape.
- This recipe makes 48 oz of lotion.
- Optional: I added 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ginger, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg and ⅛ teaspoon allspice to my body butter to increase the pumpkin scent. BUT since the spices don’t dissolve, the lotion feels a little gritty. So I will leave that option up to you.
- ¼ cup fractionated coconut oil
- ¼ cup pumpkin scented shower gel (I used Bath & Body Works Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow)
- 1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
- Optional: vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice
Instructions:
- Put the fractionated coconut oil in a bowl.
- Stir in the show gel and then add the sugar.
- This makes 1-1/2 cups of sugar scrub.
- Fill small containers with the sugar scrub, add a label and a piece of washi tape.
- Optional: If you want to increase the pumpkin scent, mix ¼ teaspoon cinnamon and a dash of ginger, nutmeg, and allspice.
- Be careful when using because products containing oil can make the shower/tub slippery!
- 1 cup baking soda
- ½ cup Epsom salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger, ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- Mix everything together with a whisk.
- Put 2 tablespoons of pumpkin foot soak into small containers, add a label and a piece of washi tape.
- This makes enough to put 2 tablespoons into about 10 containers.
- When ready to the foot soak, pour the entire contents of the small foot soak container (2 tablespoons) into a basin of warm water.

Love your cute ideas. The lids painted up great and I can’t wait to fill the jars. Thanks for the cute labels. They go along way for someone like me!

I love these ideas! Thank you for sharing. I was curious if you could use pumpkin pie spice instead of all the spices separately and if so, how much would you recommend?
Tonia says
Thanks Mary! Yes, you could. I would use 2 tsp but if you do choose to add spices, they will not dissolve in the lotion and it will feel a little gritty.

Thank you so much! I am going to add this into a mini pumpkin patch ( wood crate filled with hand made pumpkins) I am making for my secret sister. Thank for giving the printable labels with it also.
