Magnetic Memo Board

chalkboard memo board with bunting

There are always so many things on the to do list and back to school adds even more tasks!

Make a memo board to help corral those ideas and chores.  This memo board is magnetic and it is a chalkboard!

vintage metal tray with flowers
I picked up this vintage metal tray from the thrift store a couple of months ago and set it aside not knowing what I was going to make with it yet.
spray paint metal tray
I sprayed the tray with primer and let it dry.
paint markers on metal tray
I painted the tray with 2 coats of chalkboard paint.  To decorate the tray, I picked these Elmer’s Painters Markers from Walmart.  They are bright colors with a fine tip.
oh happy day written on tray
I wrote “oh happy day” with the white Elmer’s Painters Marker.
craft glue, fabric triangles and string
To make the bunting, cut fabric triangles.  Then, gather embroidery thread and an Elmer’s CraftBond Clear Dual Tip Glue Pen.
glue fabric triangles on string
Squeeze a glue line along the top of the triangle and stick it to the embroidery thread.
chalkboard memo board with bunting
Drape the bunting across the top of the tray and attach it to the backside.
chalkboard memo board with bunting and notes
After letting the chalkboard paint set for the recommended time, write your to do list in chalk and attach notes with magnets.
This project has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Elmer’s #gluenglitter #collectivebias but the project and opinions are my own.

I Love this idea! I’ve been wanting to try that chalkboard paint for a while but I can never seem to find it anywhere! Do they have it at AC Moore or Hobby Lobby? I’ve looked but didn’t see it…..I guess it wouldn’t hurt if I actually asked! LOL! Thanks for sharing!
