Felt Pancakes with Butter and Syrup

felt pancakes
The little kids I know are still into felt food!  I made some of these recently so I thought I would post a tutorial on how I make them.
circles drawn on felt

Make a circle template 4 1/2 inches in diameter.  Trace the pancakes on tan felt…2 circles for each pancake.  Cut them out.

syrup blog drawn on felt
Make a syrup pattern in a blob shape (the longest distance between points about 4 inches).  Trace and cut out 1 syrup for each pancake out of brown.
cutting out squares of felt
Cut out 1×1 inch pats of butter.
circles drawn on stuffing
Make a template for the stuffing about 3 1/2 inches in diameter.  Trace and cut out stuffing circles, one for every 2 pancake pieces.  I used felted wool.
felt squares sewn on syrup blobs
Sew the butter pats onto the syrup pieces.
assembling felt pancakes
Sew the syrup pieces onto the pancake circles.  Then, stack up a pancake circle, a stuffing circle and another pancake circle with syrup and butter.
felt pancake
 Sew the pancake together.
felt pancake stack
Make enough so you can have a “Short Stack” of pancakes!

I heart felt food! It’s so fun! I want to do a wreath or something with all felt foods. 🙂
